When it comes to turning Arizona into a Christian theocracy, Cathi Herrod and her Center for Arizona Policy have been so successful that Cathi Herrod is probably the most powerful woman in Arizona.
If you look at the laws that Cathi Herrod and the Center for Arizona Policy have gotten the Arizona State Legislator to pass you will quickly realized that Cathi Herrod does want to turn Arizona into a Christian theocracy.
If Cathi Herrod's husband, Judge Michael Herrod is as biased religiously as Cathi Herrod is, I seriously doubt that he can be an honest fair judge who can look at things from a fair neutral point of view.
Guilt by association campaign against Judge Herrod

A campaign is underway to oust Judge Michael Herrod of Maricopa County Superior Court. It has nothing to do with Herrod's record as a judge. It has nothing to do with Herrod himself. He is married to Cathi Herrod, whose opposition to abortion and support for traditional marriage has rendered her a Koch brother to the left. For the crime of being married to such a person, they wish to run Judge Herrod from the bench. Politics of personal destruction, anyone?
I received the statement copied below from a lawyer who supports pretty much the entire panoply of liberal causes, but who nevertheless found the campaign against Herrod anathema to the purpose of the merit-retention process for keeping judges. He said he saw it posted on the website of a donor network for pro-choice Democratic candidates called "Arizona List ." It looks like Arizona List has taken down the post following his objection. But it still is making the rounds among other liberal-Democratic groups:
Maricopa County Friends: Arizona List urges you to vote NO to retain Michael Herrod as Maricopa County Superior Court judge. Herrod is the husband of Cathi Herrod, President of the Center for Arizona Policy (CAP). CAP is the extremist lobbying organization that has worked closely with extremists in the Legislature to erode women's reproductive rights, LGBT rights, teach evolution & comprehensive sex education in schools and wrote SB1062. The Herrods are too extreme for AZ. Please like & share to help get the word out!
Don't retain Judge Herrod. His wife created SB1062!
As Sunday's editorial in the Arizona Republic illustrates, the process for retaining judges in Maricopa, Pima and Pinal counties is a process anchored in the judge's competence on the bench. Once judges start getting booted because of the political activities of their spouses, then the process is corrupted.
